MASSAGE
Please arrive fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to complete a detailed questionnaire and relax with something warm or cold to drink while you wait for your therapist. At subsequent appointments, these buffer minutes will allow your nerves to soften and your body to rest as you mentally prepare for your massage.
Your massage room and table will be warmed according to your preferences and you can expect to be comfortably and modestly draped with both a sheet and blanket throughout the entire massage. If you think of anything your therapist could change or add to increase your well-being and comfort, please let her know promptly.
Your therapist will discuss your needs and expectations prior to each session. You are welcome to be as specific as you can when requesting attention for problem areas. Your therapist is prepared to either completely lead the session with her own style and technique and/or create a custom massage according to your requests.
Before you make your appointment, take a few minutes to study our massage therapists' biographies and the descriptions of each type of massage they offer. When speaking with our helpful front desk staff, let them know which type of massage you are interested in receiving. This winter, we highly recommend either the hot stone massage or hot stone add-on. You'll be pleased with the deeply penetrating warmth that relaxes both muscle and soul.
Our massage therapists use Biotone massage creams and lotions, specifically formulated to leave your skin feeling soft and moisturized without a greasy feel. Environmental damage from the harsh cold, wind, and sun in Alaska may inspire you to come in for a massage if only to receive the benefit from the intensely hydrating and restorative properties of our crèmes. Although it is beneficial for use on the face, hands, feet, and entire body, please inform your therapist if you desire to be massaged without crème in any location.
Finally, for your safety and the safety of others, please refrain from making an appointment if you are experiencing any contagious condition, including the flu or a contagious skin ailment. If you have a localized, open cut or other wound, please bandage the area and inform your therapist of its location. Thank you for your consideration.
FACIALS
Accent of Style is currently the only spa in Anchorage certified to use and sell Murad skin and body care products, clinically proven effective. Whether you experience transforming results from a Murad facial or already know their esteemed reputation, our helpful esthetics staff would be happy to consult with you on which products would be best for your skin.
Facials are effective in treating acne, wrinkles, hyper pigmentation, dryness, and other environmental damages as well as slowing the effects of aging and increasing the overall health of your skin. Prior to your service, your esthetician will consult with you regarding your needs and goals for the therapeutic session. An elaborate sequence of customized steam treatments, exfoliation, extraction, massage, and application of creams, lotions, masks, and/or peels will produce highly desired improvement in the health of your delicate facial skin.
Additionally, the Murad Method heralds a holistic approach to skin care incorporating home skin care, exercise, healthy food and drink choices, and a positive lifestyle with habits of effective stress relief. Our estheticians are able to advise you in any of these areas for your wellbeing.
A gown is provided for you to wear during your service for your comfort and modesty. After your facial, your therapist can provide a brush or comb at your request and we encourage you to bring your make up if you desire to re-apply or touch up.
If you intend to accomplish one or more facial waxes in conjunction with your service, check with your service provider for their advice on the order and amount. Some combinations will limit the benefits of your facial. For your safety, you should limit your exposure to direct sunlight and refrain from tanning for twenty-hours before and after your service.
